We strive to provide a high-quality domiciliary care service that prioritises the well-being and development of the children under our care
We believe that each child is unique and should be at the centre of their care. Our person-centred approach ensures that each child's needs, preferences, and aspirations are respected.
We focus on the strengths and abilities of each child, rather than their deficits. This approach promotes self-esteem, and independence, helping children to overcome challenges and achieve their potential.
We work closely with educational institutions to ensure that children have access to education and learning opportunities. Furthermore, we provide additional support for their homework.
KNT Healthcare Limited support children and young people who require respite care to provide temporary relief for parents or guardians who are caring for a child with special needs, a chronic illness, or complex health conditions. We provide care in the child’s home, offer support by accompanying the child to activities, appointments, and providing overnight care to allow parents or guardians to rest. KNT Healthcare Limited offers assistance with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding. For children with disabilities, this may also include help with mobility aids or other assistive devices. We offer healthcare support, such as administering medication, assisting with physiotherapy exercises, or providing care for specific conditions such as autism, cerebral palsy, or Down’s syndrome.
Our service is specialist because we use specific models of care tailored to the needs of children requiring respite care. These models include trauma-informed care, person-centred care, and strength-based approach. We also collaborate with external specialist agencies, such as child psychologists, therapists, and educational specialists, to provide additional support in areas of expertise.
Recognising that many children in need of respite care have experienced trauma, we use a trauma-informed approach in our care and support services. This approach acknowledges the impact of trauma on a child's development and behaviour and provides care in a way that promotes healing and recovery.
We have a team of trained professionals who will develop personalised care plans that cater to the physical, mental, and emotional health of each child. This includes regular exercise, balanced nutrition, mental health support, and emotional counselling. We also ensure that children have access to medical services when needed.
We manage planned, urgent, and respite admissions through a comprehensive process that ensures each child's needs are thoroughly understood and catered for. For planned admissions, we work closely with the child, their family, and any involved professionals to ensure a smooth transition into our care. For urgent and respite admissions, we have a rapid response team that can quickly assess and admit children into our care.
Upon admission, each child undergoes an initial assessment to identify their care and support needs. This assessment is conducted by a multidisciplinary team of professionals, including social workers, psychologists, and healthcare professionals. The assessment covers various aspects, including physical health, emotional well-being, social skills, and educational needs.
Based on the initial assessment, a personalised care and support plan is developed for each child. This plan outlines the specific care and support services the child will receive, the goals to be achieved, and the strategies to be used. The plan is developed in consultation with the child and their representative to ensure it reflects their needs, preferences, and aspirations.
We provide opportunities for children and young people to develop their potential and learn life skills. This includes problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and social skills.
